Williams Lake, B.C. – Over the Thanksgiving weekend, some users of the 108 Mile water system experienced low water pressure or loss of water. The problem was resolved within the day, but numerous people said they tried to contact the Cariboo Regional District about the issue and were not able to reach anyone.

Outside of flooding and wildfire season, the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre is not active, but the CRD is still prepared to respond to any emergency situations. For emergencies, like utility issues, please contact the CRD at 250-392-3351 or toll-free at 1-800-665-1636.

If you call after hours, you will hear a voice message telling you to press 5 if it is an emergency. Pressing 5 will connect you to the CRD’s after hour emergency line. The operators will take your message and contact the appropriate CRD managers to respond to the situation.

For more information about emergency preparedness, visit cariboord.ca/emergency. Information about CRD utilities can be found at cariboord.ca/utilities.
