The CRD's educational efforts are directed as follows:


  • Invasive plant identification carabiners;
  • Invasive plant identification booklets;
  • The CRD's Invasive Plant Colouring and Activity book;
  • Invasive plant brochures and fact sheets;
  • Web page;
  • Print advertisements in local newspapers and newspaper supplements;
  • Table top display;
  • Informational and advisory signage and posters in high profile areas.

Educational Initiatives:

  • Conducting presentations to interested parties upon request;
  • Providing educational displays;
  • Organizing and conducting ‘Community Weed Pulls’ with interested groups;
  • Providing informational sessions about herbicides with the herbicide dispensing program;
  • Providing Private Property Treatments in an effort to instruct and educate homeowner’s in the methods to control invasive plants;
  • Providing advice and resources or answering any questions through our toll-free number 1-800-665-1636.
