Tuesday, June 7, 2016 16-22 For Immediate Release CRD’s Orange Shirt Day resolution successful at FCM Winnipeg, M.B. – The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) continued its resolution success for 2016 at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Conference and AGM which was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba from June 2-5. The CRD submitted one resolution regarding a proposed National Orange Shirt Day.

Williams Lake, B.C. - During the Cariboo Chilcotin Beetle Action Coalition (CCBAC) Board of Directors meeting on Monday, May 16, the Board approved a request for funding for a collaborative economic diversification and community prosperity initiative headed up by the Cariboo Regional District (CRD). CCBAC will provide $80,000 towards the initiative.

CRD Protective Services Unveils New Address Sign Program Williams Lake, B.C. – Today, the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) unveiled a new program to help make it easier for rural residents to be located by emergency responders in the event of an emergency. The CRD Street Address Sign Project is now available to all residents of the Cariboo Chilcotin.

CRD resolutions meet with success at NCLGA Conference and AGM Dawson Creek, B.C. – The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) saw success at the North Central Local Government Association’s (NCLGA) Conference and AGM with two successful resolutions. The resolutions deal with the effects of treaties on Crown tenure and license holders, and the second addresses consultation with local governments for industrial projects.

SKP Project Goes High-Tech! Watch progress of pool renovations with the click of a mouse Williams Lake, B.C. - The Cariboo Regional District (CRD), the City of Williams Lake unveiled a new online feature for the Sam Ketcham Pool Upgrade Project during today’s media and tour. A video camera, which updates every 10 minutes, has been installed on the West Fraser Aquatic Centre at the Cariboo Memorial Complex construction site to allow residents, the media and stakeholders the ability to check on the project progress from the comfort of home. The camera can be viewed through the Cariboo Regional District website at cariboord.bc.ca/services/recreation-2/central-cariboo. Each month, a time lapse video of activity from the previous month will be posted as well providing an entertaining look at the construction progress. Once the project is complete, a time lapse video of the full 18 months of construction will be available.

Hodgson Road area land stability reports released Geotechnical assessment of findings underway Williams Lake, B.C. – The City of Williams Lake and the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) released three reports from engineering firms regarding land slippage in the Hodgson Road area. The local governments have contracted a geotechnical engineering firm to undertake an independent analysis of the reports and provide further recommendations.
